Thursday evening at approximately 19:00 Ancram units were dispatched to a possible brush fire out on Prospect Hill Road. Shortly after responding units were told it was a controlled burn but to continue to extinguish the pile. Conditions are still to dry and Columbia County is under a burn ban until the end of the month. The pile of items was sprayed with water from 79-66 and 79-31 and then covered with dirt to prevent any spreading of materials.

Please do not burn anything during the burn ban for your safety and your neighbors, winds and dry conditions will spread a fire quickly! Call 911 immediately in the event of an emergency.
