Tuesday evening the firehouse received a call about a possible fire in someones home, fortunately members were returning from assisting a resident and were able to answer the phone. Our station is completely volunteer and therefore not always with members present. In the event of an emergency please dial 911. Units responded immediately to find an almost plugged chimney backing smoke and heat back into the house. Members quickly searched the home, removed the heat source and extinguished as well as raised ladders to the roof and inspect the chimney opening. With the speed and experience of our members only damage was to the stove and chimney with no extension into the structure. Please clean your chimney every year and when in an emergency, call 911.
